Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteers needed

Religious Education Teachers:

Teachers and substitutes are needed for all grade levels.

Please contact Lori Quagliaroli at 860-627-9469 to volunteer. No special background is required!

ImmaCare Shelter Dinners:

The Immacare Shelter is located at the corner of Park and Hungerford Streets in Hartford. Volunteers from both parishes cook the food and bring it HOT to St. Mary parking lot on the day of the dinner. The shelter coordinator and crew of five or six parishioners then transport the food to the shelter and serve dinner to the residents. The shelter is open from October through May. During October and November we serve 50 – 75 men. During the months of December through April that number could double to 100+ men. During the summer months items such as toiletries, socks, towels, etc., which the men in the shelter will need for winter months, are collected at both St. Robert Bellarmine and St. Mary churches. 

Volunteers are always needed to cook or bake for the shelter dinners (see full menus and recipes) , which are held on the first Monday of each month. Our next shelter dinner will be on Monday, April 6, 2026. The dinner menu is chicken salad, tuna salad, macaroni salad, rolls, milk, chips, cupcakes. Evangelization & Stewardship Committee:

We need volunteers for the Evangelization & Stewardship Committee, and the only requirement for joining this committee is a love of people and a desire to provide opportunities for every parish member to grow his/her love of Christ. 

The committee meets monthly and as required to support scheduled activities. Current members include Father Tim O’Brien, Sue O’Brien, Gina Durante, Judy Fritz, Larry Menard, and Marilyn Stratton .  Please contact Sue O’Brien at 860-995-5614 if you are interested in helping out or to learn more.
