ST. MARY CEMETERY REGULATIONS
Cemeteries, like homes and neighborhoods, can be beautiful and attractive, or cluttered and untidy. This appearance depends in part on the cemetery regulations. Only by your cooperation and adherence to these rules can we attain a common goal: a beautiful cemetery.
1. Plantings of flowers are permitted at upright stones. The area cannot exceed 12 inches in front of the stone and only on the burial side. Plantings on the sides of the monument are not allowed. The planting area will have no materials bordering it, i.e. bricks, stones, plastic fencing etc. If there is a footstone, no plantings are allowed at the footstone.
2. If there is only a flat stone marker, no plantings are allowed. Also, no borders of stone, brick, plastic fencing are allowed.
3. No urns for plants, bushes, trees, etc. are allowed.
4. Seasonal and artificial decorations are allowed, but are limited to wreaths, artificial flowers or boughs of evergreens in a flower box. These must be removed as the season changes. No decorations are permitted that go higher than the upright stone.
5. The cemetery allows for two cremains to be buried in one grave or one casket and one cremain.
6. Flags are permitted at upright markers year-round. Flags are permitted at flush markers between November 1st – April 30th. Flags must not exceed 12 inches in front of the stone.
7. The cemetery reserves the right to remove at any time decorations not deemed appropriate, out of season, or weathered.
